Privacy & affiliate disclosure

Effective 2026-05-23
This page is a standard, good-faith privacy policy written to describe how Lensbook actually operates. It is provided for your information and is not legal advice. If you need a policy that reflects specific jurisdiction-level obligations (e.g. CCPA, GDPR DPA-level requirements), have a qualified attorney review it.

Who we are

Lensbook (lensbook.com) is an independent reference site that documents creator filming gear with citations. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any creator listed on the site.

What we collect

Lensbook is a mostly-static publishing site. Concretely:

Cookies

Lensbook does not set its own tracking cookies. Some of our third-party links (see below) may set cookies on their domains when you click through; that behavior is governed by the destination site's own privacy policy.

Third parties

Affiliate disclosure

Some of the buy / shop links on creator and gear pages are affiliate links. If you click one of those links and make a purchase, the retailer may pay Lensbook a small commission, at no extra cost to you. We disclose this on every page that contains such links and label paid links with #ad or #CommissionsEarned where required.

Programs we participate in (or may participate in) include the Amazon Associates Program, B&H Photo, Adorama, and other retailers. As an Amazon Associate, Lensbook earns from qualifying purchases.

Editorial firewall. Affiliate revenue does not influence which gear shows up on the site, which creator gets a page, what we name as a budget alternative, or any other editorial decision. See our methodology for the standard we hold our content to.

Your rights

Because we do not collect personal accounts or profiles, there is very little visitor-specific data for us to act on. If you believe we hold information about you (for example, in our server logs) that you want accessed, corrected, or deleted, contact us at the address below and we will investigate in good faith. Where applicable, you have rights under laws such as the EU GDPR and California CCPA — including access, correction, deletion, portability, and the right to object.

Children

Lensbook is intended for a general audience, not for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes

If we change how the site collects or uses data, we will update this page and bump the effective date at the top. Material changes will also be noted briefly on the site footer.
